Quick checks
Before contacting support, try these checks:
- Confirm Garmin Connect Mobile is installed and signed in.
- Confirm your watch is paired and connected in Garmin Connect Mobile.
- Open the 2FA4G watch app once before retrying sync.
- Keep the phone app in the foreground while syncing.
- Confirm the token is supported by the current watch app: TOTP, HOTP, SHA1, SHA256, and common 6-digit or 8-digit codes.
Common issues
No Garmin watch appears
Open Garmin Connect Mobile, wait for the watch to show as connected, then return to 2FA4G and refresh the device list.
Watch app is not installed
Install the Garmin watch app from Garmin Connect IQ, then open it on the watch once.
Sync fails or times out
Keep Garmin Connect Mobile running, keep the phone app visible, and open the watch app before retrying. If a specific token is rejected, check whether it uses SHA512 or a non-standard OTP setting.
Codes look wrong
Compare the token settings with the source service: secret, issuer, account label, TOTP or HOTP type, digits, period, and HOTP counter.
