2FA4G has two parts: a Garmin Connect IQ watch app and a phone companion app. The phone app imports OTP tokens, and the Garmin watch app keeps supported codes available offline.

What to install

Garmin watch app

Install the watch app from Garmin Connect IQ.

After installation, open the app on your watch once before the first sync. This helps Garmin Connect Mobile prepare the communication channel.

Phone companion

Use the 2FA4G phone companion on iOS or Android to import tokens and start watch sync.

If your region does not show the mobile listing yet, you can still install the Garmin watch app first and follow the Usage Guide for the current setup flow. Mainland China Android users can use the China download page.

Setup steps

Install Garmin Connect Mobile and pair your watch.
Install the 2FA4G watch app from Garmin Connect IQ.
Open 2FA4G on your phone and import an OTP token.
Keep Garmin Connect Mobile connected to the watch.
Sync supported tokens from the phone app to the watch.

Requirements

A Garmin Connect IQ compatible watch.
Garmin Connect Mobile installed and signed in.
Bluetooth enabled on the phone.
The watch connected in Garmin Connect Mobile.
A phone running iOS or Android.

Sync notes

2FA4G stores token secrets locally on your phone. When you choose to sync, supported tokens are copied to the Garmin watch so the watch can show codes offline.

The current watch app supports TOTP, HOTP, SHA1, SHA256, and common 6-digit or 8-digit codes. SHA512 tokens can stay in the phone vault, but they are not synced to the current Garmin watch build.

If installation or sync fails

Try these checks first:

Open Garmin Connect Mobile once and confirm the watch is connected.
Open the 2FA4G watch app before retrying sync.
Confirm the watch app is installed on the same Garmin device selected in the phone app.
Keep the phone app in the foreground during sync.
Avoid syncing unsupported SHA512 tokens to the watch.
